
What does a Doulo do?
Premier Labor Support for Men!

A "Doulo" is a male "Doula." Labor support and assistance. The men of Black Doulo facilitate helping the men in the relationship understand their role during the pregnancy, how to provide labor support and what to do after the baby or babies are here.
Some Doulos play a surrogate role during and after the pregnancy.
Black Doulo has a collective of birth and postpartum doulas with a united passion; to help black men, couples and single women in pregnancy, childbirth and the early years of parenting feel safe and secure in knowing that support will be there.

The Man behind BlackDoulo.com
I am a man who can say, "I have custody of my children." Pretty much from birth! So, running into other men who also had custody of there children became more and more frequent over the years. The point here is not only did I begin to see single mothers struggling to raise and care for the children in their homes differently I saw that black men were more involved in raising black children than many believe or realize.
Why come to this class?
I have have been present at, at least 3 and a half births. I have seen, heard and experienced much of what many new fathers are going through and getting ready to go through. I am a much better father because of my doulo training experience.
The Mission is to promote high quality birth and postpartum support for women by helping black men play a key role in the birthing outcome.
Expect open communication and frank conversion as we explore the process and prepare you for the many moods of bring a child into the world.
